Over the past weekend, thousands of visitors had the chance to explore new flavors from around the world and taste delicious wines from hidden and lesser-known regions, including South Moravia, the largest wine region in the Czech Republic. The Embassy of the Czech Republic in London, Czechtourism, and the National Wine Centre curated an exceptional selection of undiscovered gems, such as the Czech Spa in Marianske Lazne, where visitors could indulge in wine tourism and sample traditional spirits like the renowned plum brandy, Slivovice.

A very succesful weekend could mark the National Wine Centre, nestled in the picturesque city of Valtice, where guests discovered a popular tasting spot beneath the castle in local cellars. Here, they were treated to a meticulously curated collection of the 100 best wines from all six wine sub-regions, each representing distinct styles and flavors. It was a true celebration of the diversity and richness of Czech wine culture. This and more could visitors hear and taste guided by Patrik Kubat; Czech wine representant who run educational masterclasses over two days at the theatre and also at the stall.

The wine flight starts with a delicious sparkling Prestige Brut Bohemia Sekt, followed with Ryzlink Vlassky Welschriesling 2022 ZVB from Zamecke Vinarstvi Bzenec, cuvee Narodni Park from Dobra Vinice and finished in whites by Sonberk’s Palava. Rose were reprented by Winery Valka and flight finish with typical red grape Frankovka VOC 2020 from small family run Winery Horak.

Even so the beer drinkers had a chance to taste Czech beer, probably the most typical beverage from National Czech Brewery Budweiser Budvar represented with their local and talented ambassadors. 🍺
