Description

Did you know that the first sparkling wine made using the traditional “champagne” method in Bohemia and Moravia was produced right here in Bzenec? It all began in 1876, when Franz Schwarzmann — then the estate administrator and later its director — crafted the region’s very first sparkling wine. His expertise soon gained international acclaim, earning him prestigious awards and even the respect of renowned French winemakers.

In 2013, with deep respect for tradition and a passion to uncover the secrets of the “Great Winemakers,” we placed the first bottles of our 2012 vintage to mature in the original cellar booths. It was here, in the very place where the story began in 1876, that we renewed a proud legacy.

While designing the label, we discovered that this historic year — 1876 — held such profound significance for Czech winemaking that it became the central motif of our design. The entire visual concept is a tribute to the heritage of sparkling wine production in Bzenec, celebrating the elegance and uniqueness of each moment when a glass is raised.

All our sparkling wines are crafted by hand. Every stage — from production to aging to final refinement — takes place in our sparkling wine cellar in Bzenec.

The label design was created by the prestigious London-based studio, Claessens.

It is made using the traditional method of bottle fermentation, with the wines maturing on lees for a minimum of 14 months. The bottles are then hand-riddled.
